VIREB’s Board President Guy Bezeau, CEO Bill Benoit and Manager Member Services Darrel Paysen will be in attendance this Thursday (September 20) as provincial NDP Leader Adrian Dix hosts a dinner and information meeting in Nanaimo. As part of VIREB’s non-partisan political approach, the Board’s representatives will be participating in the NDP functionas they would those organized by other political parties. Jointly hosted by MLA Leonard Krog, the evening at the Coast Bastion Inn will provide a venue for the NDP Leader to address provincial issues while meeting community leaders in a less formal setting. Dix became leader of the provincial party in 2011 after a lengthy career as a party official and MLA. A newspaper columnist and political commentator, Dix served as Chief of Staff to then Premier Glen Clark from 1996 to 1999 before he became interested in running for elected office. He was first elected as an MLA in 2005.
