About a dozen Coast Realty REALTORS® traded in their suits for working clothes September 20th as they took part in a Habitat for Humanity construction project in Nanaimo. Coast Realty has pledged $30,000 over three years to Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island (HFHMVI) as the non-profit organization builds a series of three duplexes – created to provide less fortunate families with new homes and a positive legacy for their lives. The hand’s-on construction blitz was a bonus ‘sweat-equity’ investment in the project by the REALTORS®. “Having the chance to connect and work alongside other Habitat for Humanity supporters, as well as one of the recipients of a new home, was a very rewarding experience,” explained Coast Realty REALTOR® Jamie Ker. “I look forward to volunteering again as the build continues.” Funding for the project came from Coast Realty’s “Raise the Roof” campaign, where nearly 100 Coast Realty REALTORS® contribute on an ongoing basis to a charity fund set up specifically for the project.
