REALTORS® in Nanaimo had a chance to meet for lunch, share a few stories from the year just past and to help a couple of important local causes – as part of its annual Christmas Luncheon held December 14. Held at the Coast Bastion Inn, more than 100 REALTORS® turned out for the yearly celebration. The local Salvation Army received a $750 cheque from the local Zone, with Past President Jim Stewart and VIREB Board Director Jennifer Merrilees presenting the funds to the Salvation Army’s Dawn Anderson. Later on former REALTOR® Pat Squire, one of the organizers of the Nanaimo Toy Drive, received a $250 cheque from his former professional peers. Squire has been one of the main forces behind the yearly quest to collect toys for the area’s less fortunate young people. The Christmas celebration was Stewart’s final official act with the VIREB Board of Directors as he is ending a six year involvement with the board at the end of the year.
