GOLD RIVER
Carved from the wilderness in the 1960s, Gold River is a resource-based community 90 kilometres west of Campbell River.
The community is nestled among snow-capped mountain peaks, surrounded by the Pacific Rain Forest, and opens to the waters of the historic Nootka Sound. Initially established to support the logging industry, this relatively new community is now better known as a natural recreational paradise. Gold River sits on the traditional territory of the Mowachaht and Muchalaht people of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation.
