Nanaimo - Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) Executive Officer Bill Benoit was awarded the 2011 Award of Excellence from the Association Executives Council (AEC) of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) last month. Recognized by his peers within the AEC, the Award of Excellence is presented to individuals working in real estate management from across Canada, and is bestowed on those who demonstrate exemplary dedication and service to the real estate industry. He was presented his award by CREA Chief Executive Officer Gary Simonson in Ottawa in March, as part of CREA's Annual General Meeting.

The AEC Award was first established in 1989, and is one of the highest honors presented by the Council. The AEC's members are professionals involved in real estate association management from across the country. The AEC was created by CREA to provide leadership and management resources to the more than 100,000 REALTORS®, brokers and salespersons working across Canada. VIREB, with its offices in Nanaimo, is the professional association that provides products and support services to the more than 1,000 REALTORS® working on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat.
