REALTORS® in Campbell River gave from the heart on Canada Day, and looked foolish doing it! The annual Canada Day Bed Race took to the streets of downtown Campbell River, raising a total of $780 for the Campbell River Hospital Foundation. “It was a hoot, and everyone had a terrific time,” explained Byron Maier (RE/MAX Check Realty) and Team Captain of the All-REALTOR® racing team

“We had about dozen or so members on the team, coming from offices all over town, not just from RE/MAX,” he said. “We may not have won, but we did finish in second place – for the most money raised by a team. But raising money for the Foundation was the whole point, the serious element in all the fun.”

Campbell River REALTORS® donated $250 from their advertising fund to the event. The 2012 edition of the Campbell River Bed Race saw more than a dozen teams, belonging to businesses from throughout the city compete. “We didn’t have a lot of time to prepare our bed this year,” Maier said afterward. “Now that I’ve had a taste of bed racing I’m sure we’ll have a much higher performance model ready for next year.”
