VIREB REALTORS® in Nanaimo were treated to sneak peak at a new film project about the Nanaimo River estuary system at its Zone Luncheon October 24. Held at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, the lunch meeting featured a presentation by local filmmaker Paul Manly who provided a review of his new project entitled Voices of the River. This documentary style video project offers insights into the importance of the Nanaimo River watershed, specifically in the terms of its value as a source of drinking water for the region – told through the voices of persons who value the river. The video also addresses the River’s incalculable value as a regional source of recreation, local history, wildlife preservation and other benefits. More than 70 REALTORS® were on hand for the preview of the film, in addition to the regular meeting and networking opportunities offered by the luncheon.
