As always when the new monthly real estate statistics comes out it’s interesting to search through them to pick out some interesting facts and tidbits of information. For example during the month of November 505 single family homes were listed on the VIREB MLS® system, but so to were 2 farms, 125 undeveloped lots, 51 acreages and 18 businesses. There were a total of 1,469 listings of all types placed on the MLS® last month, with a total of 8,073 active listings of all types on the system as of the end of November. The monthly total represented a 21% increase in listing activity over the same month last year. So far this year a grand total of 20,234 listings (of all types) were entered into the system, with 6,483 sales occurring, down 4% from the same point in 2011.
