She may not have been on the ice but JeanneFahlman, Development Officer for the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society certainly scored thanks to hockey. Representing the Society she was on hand at the VIREB office March 25 to pick up the $2,684 collected during the 2nd Annual VIREB REALTOR® Charity Hockey Game. The REALTOR® versus REALTOR® match was played March 15 in Nanaimo before a crowd of cheering supporters. During the yearly event’s first outing $1,100 was raised. This year’s total more than doubled the first year’s tally, setting the bar high for future versions of the game. “There were certainly no problems finding sponsors this year,” said one of the game’s organizers, RE/MAX of Nanaimo’s Justus Edmundson. “So while I’m not making any predictions about next year, I’m very optimistic we can do even better.” Helping with the presentation were a number of game participants, including (left to right in photo) Dave Hammond, Fahlman, Edmundson, Jordan Belveal and Jim Stewart. A total of 31 players, including local busines sleaders and REALTORS® took to the ice for the fundraiser.
